The properties on these streets were laid out in the early 1900’s along neat East-West rows with uniform iron railings and matching bay windows.
Named after ducal seats (Welbeck, Thoresby, Blenheim, Belvoir & Chatsworth) the area became knows as the Dukeries.
Built in 1903 this property was home to Sam Appleton, first as a grocers and then as a wine and spirit dealers.
For the first time in it’s 120 year history we turned this iconic shop in the heart of the Dukeries in to a neat family home - complete with bespoke street artwork to pay homage to old Sam!
